Due to its geographical location, the Port of Bayonne is a city port. The Port of Bayonne’s integration in its environment is a major challenge identified by the Guidelines for Regional Planning approved in 2014.
Guidelines for Regional Planning
Axis 3 of the Guidelines specifically mention consolidating links between the city and port in the estuary. It aims to guarantee the operational coherence of actions by different partners and institutional players in the port’s area of interaction.
Adour SPPPI
The Port of Bayonne is committed to reconciling its interests with those of the local population, preserving biodiversity and interacting with city life. S3PI is a collaborative tool for dialogue, set up for this purpose.
The Bayonne & Basque Country Chamber of Commerce & Industry plays a major role in the way this structure works, bringing together local authorities, associations, industry and government.
